Tencent and China GC Networks hosted China's first nation-wide casual game design contest from November 2005 to February 2006.
A reception was hold in mid November to kick off the contest. After the reception the contest site went live and the organizers started accepting game design submissions from game designers, game enthusiasts, and students. The submission period lasted from November to early January. The judging committee started working in January to select winners from the submissions. Final results will come out and winners will be announced in late February.
As the first nation-wide casual game design contest, the event's goal is to promote creativity in China's game design community and encourage more students to enter this promising industry. This contest brings public's attention to two areas – China's booming casual game market and game education.
The contest got extensive support from various government divisions, industry organizations, game schools and media.
